There is a pub situated in the heart of Brigade Road, Bangalore. Trust me, this is a place you better not miss. Yes, Pecos is a den. And those who enter the den of Rock n' Roll always demand something more than beer and loud music. This is where the soul of rock is preserved in Bangalore. Let me rephrase it. Pecos is where true fans of classic Rock feel at home despite the traffic and pace of Bangalore. The spirit of music lives among the numerous tapes that are well preserved in Pecos. If you are really lucky, you may come across some painter, photographer, musician out in a corner sipping his beer and looking for a conversation and this is unique only for Pecos. The most grungy and old school building in the lot. Decorated by posters that cherish those best moments in the history of Rock. There is no where better to have it all under one roof. "These posters bring me back to the days when Eric Clapton and Motörhead ruled the stages and roads alike, for me this place is more than a pub. And a monument of my youth" says Eric Robinson. The menu is a blend of the best delicacies from Mangalore, Kerala, Coorg, Goa and International choices. Pecos is not a place to dance around and act stupid, but the entire place is an experience to remember. Nostalgic, thought provoking none of these words could completely describe Pecos. Each person has a reason to visit Pecos and that is diverse, many of the patrons arrive to write, compose or just to savor the memories. Though cherished by memories and decorated by loyal patrons who flock each week, Pecos manages to serve them at affordable rates that is surprising. This also turns Pecos into a must visit weekend hangout.

Breakfasts served during weekends is a signature of Pecos. Pecos may be the only pub in Bangalore that serves Dosa. Goan delicacies and snackers with a touch of the Coorgi cuisine brings the best out of the evening if it is a match day. Many find Pecos as the ideal place to watch a game of football or cricket. Each soul visited this place has left their insignia of memories that had shaped the identity of Pecos. Indeed this joint is built on Rock n' Roll. Pecos had transformed itself from the first Mexican restaurant in the city to one of the iconic pubs, that is over two decades old.

While leaving the grungy building through the old fashioned door, counting the fleet of stone steps, I thank Pecos for giving me more than just beer and music to cherish. For we swear on cassettes and upon the love for music and chilled beer.
