SFL at BodyPower Expo 2014, Mumbai
One of the basic human instincts is to fight and to survive. The rule of the nature. Super Fight League is one of the innovative projects in Indian subcontinent that organized and promoted sanctioned fights. Following the path of success of UFC, the promotion was founded and financed by Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt. SFL has commercialized prize fighting, yet this is seldom perceived from the views of fighters. All the fights are sanctioned and medically cleared, that means a safer, healthier opportunity provided to athletes to compete and to train. Constant monitoring of health and medical conditions revolutionized the quality that the event brought in to the lives of fighters. Most of the fighters and enthusiasts find this as a huge leap from the days where illegal betting houses or independent fight clubs predominantly controlled the scene. More than a worthy income, a global platform is provided for Indian Fighters to excel and to showcase their talent. SFL not only brought a better marketing strategy but also improved the image of these fighters and their lifestyles. With sponsors lining up to support the sport and event, this will be a proving ground for more fight enthusiasts and fighters in years yet to come. Government can also ensure that the dark hands that had overpowered lives of martial artists are out of picture.

Life is all about surviving. Surviving your weaker emotions with the strongest. Fighting to survive the tides of obstacles and bringing the best to reign keeps the war going. At times what makes people weak are the availability of choices to run away from the obstacles. The true moment when an individual is tested, is when there is no where to run and no where to hide but to face the obstacle head on. This is the philosophy of the ring. The inadequacies of the world is set right when an equal platform is provided where excuses doesn't count. In a way the fight is the physical outcome of a philosophical reaction. The concept of winning and losing is just an illusion, actual winners are the athletes who release their inner self to take over the moments as they set themselves free from the shackles of the world. It is about who could put his story above the other. In many bouts it is often the one who is defeated who stays to tell the tale. As quoted in Rocky Balboa, "It is about how hard that you can get hit and keep moving forward"

The one who prevails reigns to live another day. Not just the body but the will and character is tested under fire. What the world lacks today is this typical test that initiates maturity. In a world filled with shortcuts and options the will to proceed diminishes. Physical combat is one of the oldest sports in human history. Practically it is in our nature to wrestle. As newborn babies, we learn to grapple and nourish even before we learn to speak. In an another plane the violence is metaphysical. Setting the struggle within to quench the struggles around the self. The violence and bloodshed will remain to be debated forever, however the philosophy of the gladiators will be passed from generation to generation through the epochs of humanity. Combat sports had been integral to human heritage and evolution. Beyond the physical risks endured, it acts as a spiritual journey to overcome the emotions to reach a desired state of mind. SFL have transformed how Indians perceived the event. Indian fighters are enjoying better sponsorship deals, media publicity and medical benefits than even before. Apart from celebrity endorsements, the promotion have helped to provide a better platform for unorganized fighters and talents in India.
